Privacy Policy

This policy covers Mimikara, the iOS app published by Torven Labs.

LAST UPDATED · 3 AUGUST 2026

Mimikara collects nothing. No account, no network requests, no analytics, no tracking, no ads. Nothing leaves the device.

Data collected

None. Mimikara has no account system, no sign-in, and no server component. Torven Labs does not receive, store, or have any means of accessing information about how the app is used.

Specifically, the app does not collect:

Data stored on the device

Mimikara stores learning progress locally so the app can function: which words have been seen, how they were graded, review scheduling, and app settings. This data lives inside the app's private storage on the device, is readable only by the app, and is never transmitted anywhere.

Deleting the app removes this data from the device permanently. Because no copy exists on any server, deleted progress cannot be recovered except from a backup file created beforehand.

Backups

The app offers a manual backup that writes progress to a single file. That file is placed wherever the person using the app chooses to save it, and from that point it is under their control alone. Torven Labs never receives it. Any device backup made through iCloud or a computer is handled by Apple's systems under Apple's terms, not by Torven Labs.

Network access

The app makes no network requests. All word data, audio, and functionality are bundled with the app or generated on the device. Mimikara behaves the same whether or not a network connection is available.

Third parties

There are no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash reporting in the app. No data is shared with anyone, because none is collected in the first place. Nothing is sold, ever.

Apple provides standard App Store information to developers, such as aggregate download counts and any crash reports a user has explicitly opted into sharing with developers through iOS settings. This is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, is aggregated or anonymized, and cannot be used to identify anyone.

Speech and audio

Words are read aloud using the speech voices installed on the device. The app does not record audio, does not use the microphone, and does not request microphone access.

Children

Mimikara is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Rights over personal data

Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give people rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data a company holds about them. Torven Labs holds no personal data from Mimikara, so there is nothing to access, export, or delete on any server. All data stays on the device and is fully under its owner's control: it can be exported through the app's backup feature and erased by deleting the app.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects privacy, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top of the page will change with it.
